Christopher A. Brown Chris is President of National Fatherhood Initiative. He is married to Kayla, has two adult daughters, and lives in Texas.

The Fatherhood Research and Practice Network (FRPN) will soon release its second request for proposals (RFP) for evaluations of fatherhood programs. (I sit on the FRPN's advisory committee.) If you want to rigorously evaluate your fatherhood program, I encourage you to partner with a researcher and consider applying. Here are the details:

  • frpn-logo.pngFRPN will release the RFP on January 2, 2016.
  • The purpose of grants is to increase the number and quality of evaluations of fatherhood programs and learn more about how to better serve low-income fathers, racial/ethnic minorities, and other under-studied populations.
  • Letters of interest are due by February 5th.
  • FRPN will notify selected applicants of their official invitation to submit a proposal.
  • Full proposals are due by April 8th.
  • FRPN will distribute award notifications in June.

FRPN anticipates distributing two to four awards of approximately $50,000 each and four to five awards of approximately $100,000 each.

For more information on or questions about this upcoming RFP, contact the FRPN by clicking here. I also encourage you to visit the FRPN website and subscribe for the latest information about FRPN funding, news, and events.
